Biography
I’m 48 years old and a lifelong resident of Southern Nevada. In fact, I grew up within the boundaries of the district I now wish to represent. I graduated from Basic High School, in Henderson, and earned a degree in Chemistry and Geology from UNLV.
I grew up in Clark County and it is here that I have chosen to raise my family. I can remember a time when Nevada had limited government and our citizen’s enjoyed some of the lowest tax rates in the country. Unfortunately, in recent years our elected officials have changed all this. They have subjected us to a “Big Brother” society which burdens us with higher taxes and increases government intrusion into our lives. I, personally, would like Nevada to return to the good old days.
I gained real world knowledge and experience with business and finance through personal experience. For thirteen years, I owned and operated a gardening/landscaping business in Las Vegas. I tried to be active in the community by using my business as a primary sponsor when I coached little league baseball.
I have always had a deep passion for environmental issues and have been fortunate to have been employed in the environmental field for more than 16 years. For the past 3 years, I’ve been employed by the Clark County Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management. Prior to this, I spent 11 years working a Chemist, in an environmental laboratory, and 2 years as a Geophysical Technician, with primary emphasis in groundwater research. I’m an active member of the Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) and the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA).
Carrie, my wife of 13 years, is also a native of Clark County. She’s employed by the Clark Count School District, teaching in a classroom for children with severe learning disabilities. We have two daughters: Camille, 11 and Hannah, 7.
