Welcome
"A MAN'S WORD IS HIS BOND”... My father repeated that phrase countless times throughout my childhood, and it is that credo that has guided my adult life. I credit my father for instilling me with a deep sense of honesty and accountability. I believe that, first and foremost, a man must always do what he says and say what he means.
My name is Scott Chappell, Republican candidate for Nevada State Assembly District 22. I have chosen to run for public office because I believe that one person can make a difference in the way government operates.
The core issues of my platform, which I believe are essential to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, are as follows:
- Limited Government;
- Lower Taxes;
- More Individual Freedoms; and
- Sovereignty for the State of Nevada.
I believe the primary responsibility for government, at all levels, is to be fiscally responsible with our tax dollars. I’m opposed to the concept of the welfare state. As individuals, we are each responsible four our own prosperity. We should not look to government as a provider for our personal health and welfare needs.
I believe that one of the most fundamental responsibilities of the person elected to this office is to always be accessible to the public. He should never be too busy to listen to the concerns of his constituents. The responsibilities of this office include voting on bills that establish state laws, tax rates, and funding for state and local services. This individual must be loyal to the people he represents without compromising his personal convictions.
Please read through each of my platform issues. I have outlined methods that I feel are realistic, and attainable, for government to maintain necessary services without the need for additional taxes.
